Remember What Counts
It is very easy to lose sight of the things that count. We live in a "get more" culture, and we are so busy trying to accumulate a wealth of "things" that we get caught-up.
I encourage you today to count the things that you have, and be grateful. Take your limitations in stride, and simply be grateful. The Word of God teaches us "Since I know it is all for Christ's good, I am quite content with my weaknesses and with insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong". -- 2 Cor 12:10
The adversary would have you to focus on what you don't have, and what you battle with, and what you have not been successful in achieving; and what isn't working out; and what you're struggling to keep. He reminds you of the missed opportunities, and the unachieved goals. The devil is a liar and the prince of all liars. He wants you to forget about God's timing for all things concerning you. You are in God's timing; God is not slack concerning you, and your weakness is God's divine opportunity to prove His Strength. That is what counts.
Recite and rehearse in your mind this word of affirmation, and tell yourself "Actually, I don't have a sense of needing anything personally. I've learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances"
Count what you've got and be grateful. To be grateful is to be appreciative of benefits received. Have you received any benefits? Don't focus on what you've lost, but be grateful for what God has allowed you to maintain, be grateful for your benefits. Don't grieve over those who have walked away, but Bless the Lord for those who are still with you. Better days are coming and the glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts. -- Haggai 2:9
Don't let the enemy mess up your thinking. Consider the benefits of your relationship with the Lord, and remember what counts. Focus on the many blessings of God in your life and be content. It may look as if it's hopeless, but God is your Hope. It might look like a dead issue, but God's is the giver of life and the One who can resurrect your death dilemma; it may feel like total chaos, but He will give you Peace in the midst of your storm. Be grateful! God is already in your Latter House, and You are already Blessed!
